Precision to the point
Precision to the point: plotting the smallest seals with tight radii and minimal wall thicknesses
In modern sealing technology, maximum precision is required – especially when components are extremely small and still have to fulfill the highest functionality. At Möllering Gummi- und Kunststofftechnik, we have specialized in precisely these challenges. A prime example: the plotting of seals with tight radii and minimal wall thicknesses of less than one millimeter.
Why plotting?
Plotting is an extremely flexible, tool-free cutting process in which gaskets are precisely cut directly from the raw material – without high start-up costs or long lead times. This is a decisive advantage, especially for small series, prototypes or special solutions.
Our modern plotter systems, but above all our experienced employees, enable even the most intricate geometries to be produced cleanly and in a material-saving manner. The choice of materials ranges from elastomers to cellular materials in a wide variety of Shore hardness variants – depending on your requirements, such as temperature resistance, chemical resistance or FDA conformity.
A recent customer project impressively demonstrates what is possible: the requirement was for an extremely compact seal with a wall thickness of just 0.7 mm and several tight inner radii – a challenge where many production methods reach their limits. But thanks to precise plotting, we were able to achieve a perfect contour with a clean cut – without fraying or deformation.
Flexibility meets quality
Plotting allows us to avoid tool production costs while remaining flexible when making design changes – ideal for development processes or short-term adjustments. And best of all, we deliver maximum repeat accuracy and dimensional accuracy even for small quantities – quality that our customers can rely on.
